I have recently been experimenting with incorporating more delicious things into my life, combined with recent goals of:

  • buying locally made products and supporting local businesses in Canada (we cancelled Amazon Prime as Jeff is just obscenely wealthy)
  • using more natural food products with less junk in them

On that topic, we have been eating rather well, after trying out some awesome spices and seasonings from the True North Spice Company, a local Toronto company that sells small batch seasonings and spices direct to consumers through their website. The ordering process is super simple, with great communication throughout the process. They even offer local pickup if you live in the GTA!

Sweet and Spicy Salmon Rub

Ok this Salmon Rub is probably my favourite seasoning so far! I find salmon a bit bland a lot of the time, so I followed the instructions on the back of the tin, which said to “liberally apply”. And oh man, I ate this whole piece of baked salmon in one dinner!

Montreal Everything Bagel Seasoning

I have been using everything bagel seasoning for a while on avocado toast, specifically the Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel Seasoning which I grabbed last time I was in the US. That is why I was so happy to see True North Spice had their own Montreal style everything bagel seasoning – keep it local!

Anyway, with this seasoning I actually decided to make some bagels one day. It was perhaps not the best bagel recipe, but the seasoning was pretty bomb, and I can’t wait to try it on a good bagel recipe!

Other seasonings I tried include their Gourmet Burger Seasoning to make some burgers, which came out fantastic, and I ate before I could take a photo! Plus the Taste of Tuscany Italian-style seasoning made my spaghetti bolognese taste fantastic! Awesome spices, would definitely recommend you check out the True North Spice Company!
